Do you have a #MeToo experience?
Man or woman, you’d be surprised how power dynamics that we all grow up with affect our most important relationships.
It’s not about shaming men (here at Ready Set Love®, we cover same sex relationships as well, and many men are also victims of sexual harassment and assault). It’s about making your relationship better by examining the hidden privilege and sometimes subtle misogyny within them.
For many, such things are hard to talk about. If you add a sexual assault or harassment experience to that mix, which most women and some men have had, then it gets even more complicated.
In this powerful episode, business leader and fearless personal growth expert Maja Kermath shares how her #MeToo experiences have shaped her personal relationship. She discussed the difficulties they have caused, but also the opportunity to grow closer with her partner as a result of talking about it.
Maja felt like she didn’t have a voice.
She couldn’t talk to her partner about it. She was deeply offended by the social acceptance of ‘locker room talk’ by a political candidate.
Maja is the Co-Founder and fearless leader of Kor180, a fitness, wellness and personal growth community with several locations in Austin, TX. After a successful career in technology at a Fortune 5 company. She realized she had done everything needed to be “successful” but she was still very unhappy.
As a former Division I tennis player, multi-marathoner, and triathlete, she wanted to exercise at an elite level but with a wellness and personal growth aspect to it. She went looking for a modern wellness lifestyle brand she could trust and couldn’t find it, so she created it.
In addition to changing the way people exercise, she helps her members pursue changes in nutrition and curates a community of people, events and experiences that inspire her and her tribe.
Listen to Maja share her story of both pain and triumph. It will help you broach the same topics in your relationship.
